Project Manager (Microsoft Retail Management System)

Location: Kitchener, Ontario

Job Description: Tri-City Retail Systems is seeking a dynamic candidate who will install, train on, and support our retail customers on the Microsoft Retail Management System (SQL based). Ideal candidate will possess both retail and computer skills (see details below), however, we recognize that these are two somewhat unrelated disciplines therefore will consider candidates with strong skills in either area. In addition to retail and/or computer skills individual must have superior project management skills along with excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidate must be a "people person" who enjoys customer service and helping others solve problems.

Computer Experience Required: Candidate must have the ability to quickly learn and master new software packages and be able to troubleshoot problems. Word processing, email, spreadsheet and operating system (XP) experience a must. Experience loading software and drivers.

Computer Experience Desired:
     One of the following three (A) exams:
           A: Exam 70-270: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional
           A: Exam 70-282: Planning, Deploying, and Managing a Network Solution for the Small and Medium-Sized Business
           A: Exam 70-290: Managing and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment

     One of the following two (B) exams:
           B: Exam 70-228: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition
           B: Exam 70-431: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005 - Implementation and Maintenance

Any knowledge of SQL, XML, HTML, VB, Networking, O/S also an asset.

Retail Experience Desired: Solid understanding of inventory control principles, cash drawer balancing including credit card handling and security, POS systems experience including support and setup, retail ordering/transfers as well as both balance and analysis reporting. Any retail accounting also helpful.

Other Details: Reliable transportation required. After training period, some on call work required (generally very light duty).
