End-User Training Services
Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System Headquarters

With almost 1000 Microsoft Dynamics RMS customers, Tri-City Retail Systems can offer a flexible end-user training program to match your human resource constraints as well as your budget and rollout timeframe.  While most of our clients prefer to have us perform training and deployment services on-site, the reality is that a combination of both on-site and remote training is used to transfer the knowledge our clients need to become proficient enough to manage their systems independently.

Customized training programs, combined with comprehensive technical documentation and operator’s manuals, enable our clients to implement the features and functions of Microsoft Dynamics™ RMS faster and more effectively than other systems.  Utilizing a “Train-The-Trainer” methodology, designed to transfer knowledge to the end-user, we focus on matching the software to your business practices and giving you the knowledge you need to manage your system independently.

Our training programs address all POS functions, as well as all back office and head office capabilities of the system.  And while each customer has unique training requirements, we have found that most customers respond well to the following 3-phase process:

1.

The first phase of deployment and training covers the first retail location, or “Pilot” store. This entails configuring POS and back office workstations and training management users on Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations. Training includes learning POS transactions and configuring POS functionality, receiving store orders and processing store-to-store transfers as well as other store-level transactions and management tasks like end-of-day processes and management reporting.

2.

Phase two sees the deployment of Microsoft Dynamics RMS Headquarters which is used to copy the store database that was perfected in phase one. End-user training for phase two includes database management techniques, processing worksheets that send data to the stores and request data from the stores, consolidated reporting and head office buying and replenishment functions.

3.

The final phase is the rollout of the rest of the stores’ systems. End-user training at the stores is typically done by a Train-The-Trainer representative from your management team, however, as an alternative to in-house training, we can also deploy a remote training program for your store managers, who will then teach their staff the specific functions they need to learn individually. In addition, we can provide detailed training to you IT staff on how to configure and deploy store systems with little or no support from us.

Some customers do not have the time to implement their system in three separate phases, so we can provide a consolidated approach that combines all three phases and training programs together and coordinates a chain-wide implementation of the system. While this approach does require significantly more resources from the customer, it is a viable methodology that enables you to deploy the complete enterprise-wide solution in one giant step.
