At Tri-City Retail Systems we specialize in providing a high level of expertise and support during the deployment cycle.  Using a comprehensive Statement of Work document, we can plan each and every detail of your system implementation.  From pre-installation site inspections to on-site deployment to live-day support, we will be with you every step of the way.  In addition, each client’s system is custom configured to provide the functionality they need both at the store level as well as at head office. 

Following is a list of deployment services we are able to provide:

1.   System Configuration
   

While Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System™ is an off-the-shelf program that comes with comprehensive user manuals, there are many challenges that users encounter when trying to deploy their new system. If your RMS Store Operations system is not configured correctly, it will not communicate to RMS Headquarters or share data across your chain. Furthermore, RMS Headquarters must be set-up properly or you risk serious data integrity issues at head office – which can be inadvertently passed down to the store level. This is not so much a function of the software as it is a database management issue.


With over 65 Microsoft Dynamics RMS Headquarters installations under our belts, we have learned all the tips and tricks needed to ensure a successful, chain-wide deployment of RMS. We have learned how to overcome the technical challenges one faces when deploying a chain-wide system solution and we use Microsoft’s best practices to ensure a worry-free implementation. In addition, as a standard system configuration strategy, we provide custom receipt formats and HTML displays for your POS systems; we provide custom versions of your purchase orders, stock transfer documents and warehouse pick lists and any other transactional documents; as well as a variety of custom reports for your management team.


2.   Installation
   

Tri-City Retail Systems is fully capable of on-site set-up and configuration of the head office system. If the client does not have a network solution provider, we can refer them to a local Microsoft Partner for all their networking infrastructure needs as well as the network hardware and cabling. At the store level, we can coordinate and support either self-managed installations or we can dispatch service technicians across the country from any of our hardware service partners. If your technical team prefers to perform the installation of any or all of the equipment, Tri-City Retail Systems can provide either phone-based or on-site support, depending on their preference and budget.


3.   Business Consulting
   

One our key differentiators as a solution provider is that we focus 100% of our efforts on deploying and supporting retail systems, and specifically the Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System. With over 60 man-years of combined experience in the Point of Sale industry, we can provide your retail team with technical assistance and business advice on the best way to implement and use Microsoft Dynamics RMS. This is so ingrained in our corporate philosophy that we include business consulting sessions in every aspect of client collaboration from the sales and demonstration phase to the training and implementation phases. And we continue to provide ongoing consulting services after live-day as part of our standard end-user support strategy.


4.   Data Conversion
   

Tri-City Retail Systems can provide file conversion and data importing services, assuming that the source files are provided in a standard format (flat text file, MS Excel spreadsheet, etc.) We can import data directly into the Item Master, Vendor Master and Customer Master files.


5.   Go-Live Support
   

Tri-City Retail Systems can provide a dedicated Go-Live support expert to be available either on-site or by phone during live-day to ensure that your first day of operation with the new system is smooth and trouble-free. In addition, we can complete the end-user training process by helping the store managers balance their first shift.


6.   User Documentation
   

Comprehensive user manuals for both Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations and Headquarters are available on-line for every user screen and function in the application. As part of the standard installation, we also provide complete user documentation on CD that you can print out at will. As an optional service, we can also provide customized quick reference guides for cashiers or technical documents for in-house IT staff. Written to match our client’s business practices these custom manuals can also be provided on CD for royalty-free reproduction.
